Shots! Shots! Shots!


Unfortunately for me, the shots I am talking about do not involve tequila.

These shots are more expensive and less enjoyable. Did I mention expensive? But, alas, they are something you MUST get if you are traveling. I needed quite a few shots since I'm going to South America, so far I have gotten yellow fever.... $125 later. As well as the $90 consultation. 

I have got hepatitis A and B and lupus to go. Also got to get some Malaria medicine. So I have to expect to pay another $200 more, give or take. Which makes my bank cry just a bit, but I'm guessing my doctor is one happy camper. 



Speaking of this doctor.... He is one straight up guy. In the consultation, he was very clear about all dangers that could happen. Such as wearing skimpy clothing is seen as an invitation, that I shouldn't sleep with locals (he even said that if I did, that I should use two condoms!) and all the nasty things I could catch. Like this one thing, if you go swimming in a pond there is this thing that climbs into your urethra. Scaring stuff. But the best traveler is an informed traveler.

So overall I quite like this doctor.

    Hi Katy!!! It's Tobster.
    So exciting about your trip - two things though:
    1) You totes just said "I have got hepatitis A and B and lupus to go" - sounds like a Drive-thru fast food-esque service to buy yourself diseases. Cool. But you also said you have hepatitis A and B and lupus. Sucks. Not cool (though taken out of context).
    2)Wearing two condoms - I think health teacher said that that makes things worse. Can't remember why though. Maybe it has something to do with friction. So don't do it.

      yeah when I prof read it I did notice that... but I thought that people would understand what I was trying to say. And I am getting the diseases... just not enough to make me sick. boom.

    Yellow Fever for only $125!? What a deal! I'd get two at those prices.

      So you can pay for my next few shots? because I'm really not looking forward to that.... My wallet doesn't need to lose anymore weight, she is thin enough as it is. lol
